How can young talents be inspired by an employer brand? And how to explain to them the individual business areas of a company in an innovative way that stays in their minds?
Together with our client, the Austrian Plansee Group, we put it to the test and developed an interactive trade fair experience for the job fair “BeSt3” in Innsbruck. The aim of the experience was not only to attract young talents, like pupils, students and young professionals to the stand, but also to show them that the Plansee Group with its subsidiaries Ceratizit and Plansee is an interesting and versatile employer in the field of processing of molybdenum and tungsten, which offers personal development and career opportunities.
We conceived a physical trade fair presence that attracts the attention of the target group through its appealing design. In addition to visuals and messages from the Plansee Group, a digital metaverse experience on a touchscreen invited pupils, students and others to discover the world of Plansee Group. In combination with an eye-catching popcorn machine, the perfect surrounding for an appealing and attractive booth was given, which invites to linger, but especially to get in contact with the HR team of the Plansee Group.
The centerpiece of the booth, our interactive metaverse experience with gamification factor, where visitors were invited to explore the world of Plansee Group themselves on the touchscreen. After visiting three areas in the Metaverse room, a little surprise awaited the users, triggering even more excitement.
After choosing one of four avatars, visitors could start their discovery tour into the virtual world of the Plansee Group. In the first area the visitors learned more about the group and its subsidiaries. To do this, they swiped through different views and were shown more background information in the form of text, video or interactive visuals. In this way, they could choose for themselves which areas were of particular interest and at the same time had the feeling of participating in an adventure game.
A second section showed the complete training and career opportunities at Plansee Group and its subsidiaries – ranging from vacation jobs and internships to apprenticeships and positions for young professionals. Here, the young talents were able to select their training status in advance and were immediately shown information suitable for them. To dive even deeper into certain job opportunities, a QR code could be scanned with the mobile, which led directly to the respective advertisement on the career page of the Plansee Group.
In the third and last “official” area, the visitors had to participate in a small quiz, which as a result would give them an indication on their career type and personality.
A very special surprise awaited those who visited all three areas. By visiting each station, the visitors were collecting coins - providing access to a hidden room – as known from popular video games. In this room the users had access to a slot machine and the chance to win a grand prize or a portion of popcorn.
For our customer Plansee Group, our booth design as well as our Metaverse experience was not only a great success at BeSt3, but also a lot of fun. The result was many great conversations with young applicants and an employer image that will be remembered positively in the long term – especially by the young talents.
